Calapan Guide

Calapan was formerly a small village before the establishment of the first Religious District in Baco. Centuries later, Calapan is now a 2nd class city in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. It is the capital city of Oriental Mindoro, whose economy is dependent on agriculture and fishing.

Calapan plays a big role in the growth of the whole province of Mindoro as it serves as a gateway to different islands in Luzon and Visayas with the implementation of the integrated Roll On-Roll Off project. The Calapan City Seaport is the largest and busiest seaport in the Mindoro island through ships that travels to and from Batangas City International Seaport.
