International Volunteer Day (IVD) is barely a week away and everyone at the volunteering sector is very excited!

This year's IVD will be celebrated on December 5, 2009 with a theme on environmental protection. The main events of the 2009 IVD are the Marikina River Cleanup and the Las Pina-Paranaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area Cleanup.

The IVD Steering Committee (co-chaired by our very own VIDA Cherie McCosker) invites everyone - as in EVERYONE - to join this event. The event coincides with the National Volunteering Month celebrated during December. It is also a collaborative effort of foreign and local volunteers in the Philippines.
