IMA provides various capability building services and programs that aim to empower, develop and advocate for self-reliance and strengthen the self-determination of women’s organisations, groups and individuals to address certain economic, political and socio-cultural structures that cause women and children’s vulnerability to exploitation, oppression and subordination.
IMA has the following programs:
Women Organizing Program (COP)- the development of women leaders, the emergence of self-reliant and dynamic grassroots women’s organizations, micro-enterprise development, the practice of participative actions are its main thrust;
Education and Training Program (ETP)- the facilitation of women’s access to alternative education and training is key to this program, aware that the empowerment of women begins with consciousness-raising on various emerging issues and skills development;
Crisis Intervention Program (COP)- The number of women and children breaking their silence, taking the long path towards their own healing from abuses, rape or family violence are its main focus for services from the institution itself or tapping other organizations with their own group of professionals for counseling, legal/medical assistance, temporary shelter and the formation of the Survivor’s Support Group;
Research, Information, Advocacy and Networking (RIAN)-Women’s issues, views and strides are brought to the surface, analysed and utilized through dissemination to a broad segment of the population, to serve the purposes of program and project development, design appropriate interventions, policy study and implementation or advocacy work.
