The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Institute (SMEDI) Foundation, Inc. is an institute under the Ateneo de Naga University that provides research and extension services for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Bicol region.

• Establish and implement a research program responsive to the needs of the small and medium enterprises of the region.
• Facilitate the organization and development of small and medium enterprises.
• Discover, develop and/or link SMEs to providers of appropriate technologies that will promote the growth of small and medium enterprises in the region.
• Participate in the enhancement of business competencies and social responsibilities of existing and potential small and medium entrepreneurs in the region.
• Enable graduate of Ateneo de Naga University and other HEI’s in the Bicol Region to become entrepreneurs by assisting them to develop business enterprises and facilitating access to agencies and organizations and providing technical and financial support.
• Document and process the learning experiences of SMEDI Foundation, Inc. and integrate them in the development and refinement of curriculum for business education.
