Bahay Tuluyan (BT) is a Filipino non-government organisation (NGO) working with children in need of special protection. Established in 1987, BT now operates in Manila, Laguna and Quezon providing alternative education, social services, training, research and advocacy for approximately four hundred children.
The organisation’s vision is of a world where every child’s rights are respected, protected and fulfilled and it works closely with children towards this vision. BT embraces the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) as a cornerstone for its work with children.
BT provides a variety of programs and services to children in need of special protection. In addition, it aims to serve and develop the members of the community who share responsibility for respecting, protecting and fulfilling children’s rights. The programs and services of BT fall into the following categories: social services; alternative education; research, training and advocacy; networking, partnerships and volunteering, and; self reliance.
