The United Church of Christ in the Philippines has over 2,564 established local churches. The UCCP sees the need to equip local churches and their communities to carry our various forms of ministries in areas that include justice and peace, children and youth development, community integration and service, and the protection of environment. This work implies developing and sustaining programs that are meaningful, appropriate and relevant to communities where local churches are located.
Health, Environment and Socio-Economic Development (HESED), which is under the Community Ministries Program, primarily focuses on HIV awareness and advocacy campaign in the Visayas, the Guinsaugon Housing Project, disaster management, renewable energy, community integration and partnership with non-government organization and people's organizations.
