Bicol University (BU) is a premier state university in the Bicol Region. It has diversified curriculum offerings from baccalaureate to advanced education levels. BU serves the educational needs of students all over the region and is located in Albay Province.

Patrick’s assignment. The Department of Audio Visual Communication is part of the College of Arts and Letters of the Bicol University. The Department provides education, training, seminars, workshops on audio visual communication such as film production, TV documentaries, etc. Its goal is to develop its students to become specialists in audio visual communication through the application of research and extension activities in order for them to develop critical and analytical thinking relative to multi media development.

Michaela’s assignment. The Journalism Department, which is under the College of Arts and Letters, offers Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, with focus on media development and skills-based training on mass media including public relations and electronic media. Following the current thrust of the University, the Department is presently utilising its resources to contribute to community development through developmental journalism.
