The Municipality of San Juan is a fifth-class municipality located in the pacific side of the province of Southern Leyte. The municipality provides basic services and facilities covering, but not limited to agriculture and fishery, community-based forestry projects, health, social welfare, information, solid waste disposal or environmental management system, infrastructure facilities, public market, cemetery and tourism.

The LGU of San Jose envisions: “A peaceful, ecologically-balanced, economically progressive municipality with God-loving, educated, healthy and self-reliant people imbued with deep sense of social justice”. The Municipal Government is committed to:
