PAGBAG-O is a federation of people’s organisations formally organised in l986 and was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on November 21, l996. At present, it has 17 member organisations operating in 5 municipalities in Oriental Negros. It has 16 staff and 7 members of the Board. It has strong linkages with local government units and to other NGOs at the provincial, regional and the national levels.

It’s vision is: “a prosperous and harmonious community, with strong faith in God, where justice prevails, and where there is equal opportunity to develop the spiritual, social, cultural, and economic aspects of the lives of its members.” On the other hand, the organisation’s mission is to foster active people’s participation in the development process that will lead towards the attainment of the aspirations and the overall welfare of the farmers, fishers, women and youth in the rural communities.

PAGBAG-O’s goals are to develop people’s organisations that will collectively work for the transformation of rural communities; ensure that the rights and interests of the marginalised sectors are safeguarded and protected and to expand the efforts towards environmental rehabilitation/protection and optimum use of natural resources.
